Bravo. absolutely splendid over the top theatrical excess and really well done with the lines of the play... as if the bard had indeed written them!

I of course am always seeking to write a complete and compelling story, but with this one in particular I felt I had to stick the iambic pentameter in order to sell the narrative. Your comment made my day, thank you!

Loved this, this was fantastic, bravo. The lyrical quality of the play itself was very impressive, that gets a *bravissimo*

Thank you so much! I said this in another reply, but I felt the lyrical quality was important to get right in order to sell the milieu. So happy you felt it landed!

Superb, as always. It’s fantasy writers like you that make me not even want to bother submitting to the Lunar Awards under fantasy! Lol

Have you ever read/heard of The King in Yellow?

Bro do NOT let me discourage you from submitting to competitions here or elsewhere! Please do not haha!

I haven’t read The King in Yellow, would you recommend?

I jest, I’ll still submit lol — though I do view your fantasy stories as likely the pinnacle of Substack fantasy, right alongside your pal Eric.

The King in Yellow is good, I liked it a lot. It too revolves around a cursed play.

This was such a fun read! I got some Alan Wake vibes here, with Menninwise reminding me a bit of Mr. Scratch.

Thanks Brannley! I haven't played that one, but I always heard good things!

Wow! That was great! The plot would also fit an rpg adventure! Congrats!

Thank you so much GMaia, I can definitely see how an rpg adaptation would work too!
